Interview with the Center for Creativity

The Center for Creativity interviewed me as a follow-up to my talk at the Pittsburgh Technology Council and the Center for Creativity’s series on education and creativity.

The talk discussed the future of STEM education, creativity, and the internet, hovering around the theme of combinatorial innovation, a concept we used to explore the building blocks of the internet in 2022 at the Institute for the Future. Combinatorial innovation and the mechanisms of creativity are core values over at Brain Pickings. Google’s Chief Economist Hal Varian has written about it as well, describing bits and lines of code as the basic material of innovation.

You can read the follow-up interview here, in which I discuss K-12 education, innovation spaces, and design thinking.
