Perhaps it is a little absurd, but it raises questions that most people fail to consider much less appreciate about other organisms. For instance, is there such a thing as sexual stimulation for plants? If so, how is this experienced and felt? Does it comprise any sort of cost in terms of resources that would otherwise be put towards reproduction? Is there a benefit of non-reproductive stimulation in plants (or for that matter animals and bacteria)? These are more than just philosophical questions and indeed serve as guiding hypotheses for scientific discovery. What I like about this exhibition is how it allows us to approach these ideas culturally.
